Harold was great, but just a warning he will automatically sign you up for a moving service called “Porch” and they will relentlessly call you for months after the inspection, so I would highly recommend you ask to opt out of that.

Harold.. Reports had amazing detail, he is very personable and excellent professional customer service. I reviewed others online and was impressed by his website. Then, after speaking with Harold directly there was NO doubt I chose the right man for our home inspection. He was very quick to get us his detailed report and even got PFAS testing expedited for us. Harold of HJ’s went above and beyond what I could have expected. I would recommend him highly to anyone needing an inspection. He has saved me from making mistakes that could have cost me thousands in resale value or repairs. Probably improved my ability to hire a better repairman when I don’t do it myself and when to hire a professional. I have used him a couple of times. The 1st time he looked at the house listing online and called me back to tell me it would fail an engineering inspection and why ... and let me cancel house inspection at no cost. The 2nd time he arrived promptly and went right to work. When I got there he pointed out what he had found so far and afterwards with special focus on areas I had expressed concerns about. He answered all my questions. After finding faulty wiring in front panel he checked box in garage even though they don’t do put buildings were he found more, and pointed out a missing structural beam he saw on the way. He even went the extra mile when I was still looking for we’ll head & pump, and septic clean-out he took his own time and helped me look. By the 3rd time I know I am hiring the best and would know what I had ... any plumbing, electrical, roofing, structural concerns.

Harold is reliable, and very thorough on his home inspections. I also had him do radon testing and he followed the guidelines for setting up the equipment. Harold took his time to go through the home so he could check everything for his final review with me. The seller of the home I was having inspected had their previous inspection out on the kitchen table during our inspection. It was roughly 12 pages long. Harold's inspection was nearly 80 pages! He was extremely thorough! Harold did a very good job with the inspection. He answered any and all questions I threw at him and even walked me through some actions needed and necessary steps/recommendations on some things. Even on minor things that weren't necessarily deal breakers he still documented. This gave me a very detailed Honey-Do list for when we move in. I will definitely call him again if I ever need a Home Inspection in the future.

Mr. Van Dyk was very thorough and gave me a detailed report in a PDF form. He let me walk around with him and ask questions as we moved around the inside and outside of the house. Provided inspection of multi-family property for the Buyer in a sale of the property. Inspected all common areas and 6 of 66 units. Inspection included plumbing, electrical, structure, hvac, grounds, roofs, exterior structure and rooms. Work was for about 5 hours. Excellent overall experience. Harold was on time, courteous and professional. He struck the right balance between thoroughness and expediency – this was a large property and we could not inspect every unit. His conclusions gave us an excellent understanding of the condition of the property and information to seek compensation from the Seller pre-closing.
